A wise friend once told me that if I’m confused by a description or explanation, I’m not stupid.
It’s more likely that the unclear message reveals confused intent (or intent to confuse).
And sometimes, confusing messages signal that a lie is being told.
It’s like trying to look into a cloud.
In general, confusing explanations of any kind don’t point to the truth. They are not direct.
Why should we work so hard to discover the truth of anything?
As Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei said to our class last month,
“Simplicity is the key to the truth!
If we’re very simple, we don’t get lost.”
For example, in any spiritual or healing practice, why not go right to the source? Which is the universe.
We Reiki practitioners are only conduits. We don’t do the healing.
Instead, we surrender to the energy of the universe. That’s what does the healing.
A Reiki practice can be so simple. Go beyond the “duality of the details,” in which your practice must be this way, or that way.
Instead, “place your hands, surrender, and smile.” That’s all.
It really is that simple.
